Creating and mainating healthy relationships is of more importance than some might think, because it hugely impacts all areas of our lives.
We relate to other humans in our home environment, at a place of education, in the workplace, as well as romantically and socially. Our relationship with ourselves is also included in that. If you are a part of society, then relational interaction with other human beings is basically unavoidable and the reality is, if our relationships are healthy and well-functioning then we will be. If they are unhealthy and dysfunctional, then they will affect our lives negatively and can cause harm in so many ways. Anxiety, depression, low self-worth, anger, paranoia, insecurity, sadness, low mood, physical aches and pains are just some of the negative effects that bad relationships can have on our mental health. Left unchecked over time, these symptoms can spiral into much worse ones and leave you living in a way that does not align with the life you want to have.
